Trivia

• His codename is the Cantonese/Jyutping romanization of ā (pronounced as "ah"). The Hanzi, when combined with Hung's, makes up 阿吽, which is the Chinese pronunciation for Om.
• According to his illustrator KuroBlood, Aak has the traits of a shishi. One can be seen in his Elite 2 artwork.
  • In contrast to Hung's, the spirit animal in said artwork resembles the a-gyō, the more lion or cat-like of the two komainu, which is tasked with keeping evil out and thus has its mouth open as to utter "ah."
  • The komainu are in fact Japanese version of the Chinese shishi, hence the similarities.
• Because his Stimpack skills is the only method of inflicting "friendly fire" in Arknights as well as his "evil" appearance and his occupation as an underground doctor, Aak has become a subject of many memes within the Arknights community. These include:
  • "Team Quacksalver" which often pairs him together with Warfarin (whose Unstable Plasma can damage friendly units).
  • Being seen as a traitor by Rhodes Island, notably one based on Shepherd's treachery in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Among Us.
    • This trait is immortalized by one video of him using his Stimpack skills on Suzuran in TW-4 to place Ifrit or Weedy there instead.
• Aak was the Operator who stayed as the sole member of his archetype, the Geek Specialist, the longest, until the release of Spuria in June 2023.
