Blacknight is a 5★ Tactician Vanguard who specializes in DP-Recovery and Crowd-Control. As a Tactician Vanguard, Blacknight is a ranged Operator who can only be deployed on ranged tiles and have a ranged attack with similar ATK, attack interval, and range to Marksman Snipers, which also extends to her stats, and can deploy a Reinforcement on an open melee tile designated as the "Tactical Point" within her range; in Blacknight's case, she deploys a Slumberfoot as her Reinforcement through her talent Nightwalker which, unlike summoned units, neither costs DP nor uses up the Unit Limit. The Slumberfoot can block a single enemy, have decent stats, and can attack sleeping enemies (without waking them up) which it will target over the others, and Blacknight will deal 50% more damage when she attacks the enemy being blocked by her Slumberfoot. If the Slumberfoot is knocked out or retreated, it will fully restore its HP over a period of time during which the Slumberfoot is invulnerable but can neither attack nor block enemies. Watch out, though: if Blacknight is KO'd or retreated, the Slumberfoot will disappear even when it is reviving itself.

Blacknight's skills represent her specializations to generate DP for the team and disrupting enemy ranks:

  • The first skill, Drowsy, generates 11 DP when activated and puts the Slumberfoot into a hibernating state for 10 seconds, during which it regenerates HP over time. If the Slumberfoot takes damage while hibernating, it wakes up and for the next 10 seconds afterwards (which overrides Drowsy's duration), its ATK and ASPD are buffed.
  • The second skill, Peaceful Slumber, generates 4 DP when used and puts enemies in the surrounding tiles to the Slumberfoot to sleep for a short time, during which its attacks deal Arts damage affecting enemies around the primary target and deals more damage when attacking sleeping enemies. In addition, Peaceful Slumber can store multiple charges at higher levels.

Blacknight's base skill, Vanguard Expert α, speeds up the skill Mastery training of Vanguards by 30% when she is assigned as the trainer in the Training Room. At Elite 2, Vanguard Expert α becomes Tactics Studies which also speeds the process further to 45% if the training is for Mastery 1.

Overall, Blacknight is a solid Tactician Vanguard who, rather than fighting on lower ground, prefers to fight from the higher ground and using Slumberfoots as backups to support her holding the line in the early game.

Pros Cons
  • Classified as a ranged Operator with similar ATK, range, and attack interval to Marksman Snipers
  • Can deploy a Slumberfoot as a reinforcement on the Tactical Point (a melee tile within attack range), which does not consume DP and are not counted towards the Unit Limit
  • The Slumberfoot have decent stats, can attack (and prioritizes) sleeping enemies, and will revive itself when knocked out or retreated
  • Blacknight deals 50% more damage when attacking enemies being blocked by the Slumberfoot
  • Both skills generate DP when used
  • Drowsy grants the Slumberfoot HP regeneration and ATK/ASPD buff when damaged
  • Peaceful Slumber puts enemies around the Slumberfoot to sleep and makes its attacks deal AoE Arts damage and do more damage against sleeping enemies, and can store multiple charges at higher levels
  • Lower stats than melee Vanguards
  • The Slumberfoot can only block one enemy and can neither attack nor block enemies when reviving itself (though it is invulnerable in this state) and will disappear if Blacknight is KO'd or retreated
