Blaze is a 6★ Centurion Guard who specializes in DPS and Survival (but not AoE, strangely enough). As a Centurion Guard, Blaze has above-average HP and ATK, can block two enemies – three once she is promoted to Elite 2, and her attacks hit multiple enemies equal to her block count (despite what is stated in-game, Blaze does not need to block the enemies for her attacks to hit them; the enemies just need to be within her attack range), but this is offset by a high DP cost that increases with each promotion and are among the highest of all Guards due to her rarity, just below Hellagur.
Everything about Blaze is geared towards dishing out massive damage to multiple targets at once, which is represented by her skills:
- The first skill, Power Strike γ, is an advanced "critical hit" skill that greatly increases the damage dealt by Blaze's attack every several attacks, which is good for delivering sustained DPS.
- The second skill, Chainsaw Extension Module, permanently buffs Blaze's ATK and DEF, and extends her attack range by 1 tile (so she has an attack range of 2 tiles ahead of her) once it is fully charged. With Chainsaw Extension Module, Blaze can either attack enemies before they can engage her directly or attack from behind another Operator (preferably a Defender). Even better, Blaze will be able to attack enemies from behind a wall or ranged tile with Chainsaw Extension Module when placed correctly. As such, Chainsaw Extension Module should be Blaze's go-to skill.
- The third skill, Boiling Burst, gradually buffs Blaze's ATK and DEF, and makes her attacks hit all enemies within range (instead of equal to her block count). As soon as Boiling Burst expires, Blaze thrusts her chainsaw into the ground and unleashes a fiery explosion that heavily damages enemies in a radius of 3×3 tiles and causes Blaze to lose 25% of her maximum HP; the HP loss can knock out Blaze if her HP were too low, so use it with caution.
On the other hand, Blaze's talents allow her to survive in situations where other Operators would otherwise fail:
- Her first talent, Emergency Defibrillation, restores Blaze's HP by 50% of its maximum when her HP falls below 25% for the first time (and only the first time in an operation) and prevents her HP from falling below 50% for a short time afterwards. Emergency Defibrillation helps Blaze to remain standing no matter what opposition she faces and can protect her from the HP loss inflicted by Boiling Burst.
- Her second talent, Harsh Training, applies Status Resistance which kicks in a short time after Blaze is deployed. Harsh Training can be useful in operations where enemies capable of inflicting Negative Statuses are prevalent.
Blaze's first base skill, Heat Charge α, increases Drone recovery rate by 10% when she is assigned to a Power Plant. Her second base skill, Slice Iron, Split Steel, increases the byproduct rate of building material processing by 80% when Blaze is assigned to the Workshop.
Overall, Blaze is, without doubt, the best Centurion Guard in Arknights. Even though she lacks the immortality that Specter has, Blaze uses her sheer strength and determination to tear apart all who stand in her way with her chainsaw; so, do you think now is the best time for Blaze to let her rip? Absolutely!
