Calais-Blason is a former Gaulish territory which has since become part of Victoria.

Background[]

Calais-Blason is a region once located in Gaul. After the War of the Four Nations, it was absorbed into Victoria. However, the casualties and environmental devastation caused by the war made the region largely uninhabitable and most of its residents were either killed in the war or fled the area. Currently, Calais-Blason is devoid of human habitation and largely forgotten by Terrans. [1]

Phantom was told by the Crimson Troupe that he was born in Calais-Blason and was taken by the Troupe after a flood Catastrophe swept through the area. However, due to the Troupe's propensity for falsehoods, the claim may in fact be fabricated as a lie to children.

The Castle[]

The Castle was taken over by the Crimson Troupe as a stage for their gruesome performances. The interior of the Castle is always changing and very complex. Furthermore, time does not flow in a linear fashion within the Castle, resulting in time loops. [2] Thus, every trip through the castle is different, aligning the story with the gameplay of Integrated Strategies.

The Castle of Calais-Blason finished its construction some time before 1030, and it is considered to be a combination of noble residence and military fortress for the Viscoutn of Calais-Blason. The castle is situated in the northwestern region of former Empire of Gaul to defend against Victorian invasion.

Following the news of Gaulish force being defeated in Leithanien. Calais-Blason became the final line of defense against Victorian invasion.

After fall of Ligone, the Castle served as a base of operation for the remnant of Gaulish restorationists. As the result, the region is under constant rebellion and unrest for the next several decades, resulting in its land being ravaged with little to no governance by Victorian authorities. It is not until recently that the region is able to begun its reconstruction without interference.

Etymology[]

Its name is a combination of Calais - a city in France (the real life counterpart to Gaul) and "Blason" meaning blazon/heraldry/coat of arms.

Trivia[]

  • The region was named Celaiblaison before it was retconned into Calais-Blason during PCS' Global release.
