The Crimson Troupe, also known as the Scarlet Troupe, is a Terran organization and the antagonistic faction in Phantom & Crimson Solitaire. It is a secret organization of assassins disguising themselves as a travelling theatre troupe.
Background[]
The Crimson Troupe was founded by the mysterious Troupe Master who craves for the beauty of art in the form of tragedies.[1] Following its foundation, they have been wandering around the former Gallic (modern Victorian) territory of Calais-Blason. The Troupe is notorious for using cruel Originium Arts that could control the mind of its members. Their aim is to produce the best tragedy in history for the pleasure of their Master.
Years ago, the senior members of the Troupe were murdered by its star Lucian, nicknamed the "Blood Diamond", leaving the troupe in disarray. However, the Troupe managed to survive the massacre and hid underground to recuperate their losses. They turned an old Gallic castle into their base and have been quietly experimenting on innocent people with their Arts.[2]
After leaving Calais-Blason, Lucian, now known as Phantom, made it his mission to end the Troupe permanently. However, he was brainwashed once more by the Troupe and returned to the castle to reprise his role as the Blood Diamond; his return and Rhodes Island's journey to rescue him constitute the events of Crimson Solitaire.
