Arts damage is reduced by RES, which reduces the damage at a percentage-based rate (e.g. 10 RES = -10% Arts damage taken), and is calculated using the following formula:
Where:
- represents the final Arts damage.
- represents ATK once all ATK buffs and multipliers are applied.
- represents flat RES Ignore.
- represents scaling RES Ignore.
- represents RES once all buffs and debuffs are applied.
- represents RES once all stage buffs and multipliers are applied.
- represents the sum of flat RES increase.
- represents the sum of all scaling RES Buffs.
- represents the sum of flat RES decrease.
- represents the product of all scaling RES Debuffs.
- represents the sum of all Arts damage amplifications.
- represents the sum of all Arts damage reductions.
- The minimum value of is 5% of .
- The minimum value of is 0.
For example, the damage dealt by Eyjafjalla with Ignition who are being buffed by Sora's Hymn of Battle and Warfarin's Unstable Plasma against a Level 1 FrostNova who is being debuffed by Pramanix's Natural Deterrent and Ifrit's Scorched Earth while her HP is below 40% (thus making her subject to the former's talent Weakening) would be calculated by the following method with the following assumptions:
- The base damage is 4776, because:
- Eyjafjalla is at Elite 2 Level 45 and with 100% Trust (with an ATK of 679), and her Ignition is at Level 7 (thus multiplying her ATK by 310%).
- Since Eyjafjalla is a Caster, her first talent Pyrobreath buffs her ATK by 14%.
- Warfarin's Unstable Plasma is at Level 7 (which buffs ATK by 60%).
- Sora is at Elite 2 Level 40 and 100% Trust (with an ATK of 356), and her Hymn of Battle is at Mastery 3 (thus it adds 100% of Sora's ATK).
- Pramanix is at Elite 2 (thus her Weakening applies a 30% damage amplification) with her Natural Deterrent at Mastery 3 (thus it applies a 30% scaling RES debuff).
- Ifrit is at Elite 2 (thus her Spiritual Dissolution applies a 40% scaling RES debuff) with her Scorched Earth at Mastery 3 (thus it applies a 20 flat RES debuff).
- To simplify the calculations, all percentages are converted into decimals.
As the result, under the above conditions and assumptions, Eyjafjalla's Ignition will deal a whopping 5650 damage.
