Design of Strife (DOS) is an upcoming game mode in Arknights, acting as one of the replacements of Contingency Contract.
Overview[]
DOS is reminiscent to the VR Missions expansion of Metal Gear Solid where it is a simulated battle pitting the player against reconstructions of past conflicts in Terra's history divided into two groups.
Trauma Intervention[]
The Trauma Intervention part of DOS features past military operations involving Rhodes Island with various goals ranging from rescuing civilians, repairing equipment, to recovering resources.
T.I. operations and are unlocked periodically during the event, and clearing them awards Experimental Datasets.
Formulative Battlerealm[]
The Formulative Battlerealm part of DOS features historical battles including those involving the Nightzmoras and Diablos.
F.B. is divided into four areas: C, B, A, and S, each having three operations with the third being a "turning point" featuring a boss enemy and awards Experimental Datasets when cleared for the first time. The operations can be runned in any order, but completing a higher operation will also cause the lower ones to be cleared as well (e.g. clearing the 3rd operation will cause the 1st and 2nd ones to be cleared).
Combat Enhancements will be available when the player fails an F.B. operation, which provides different effects to make the operations easier and uses up Realism; each F.B. operations have their own Realism cap, but will lower the Experimental Datasets awarded. Clearing an area without using any Combat Enhancements at all is required to unlock the next area.
Cognitive Diving Evolution[]
Cognitive Diving Evolution is DOS' reward milestone, raised through Experimental Dataset accumulation.
