An Emperor's Blade codenamed the "Pursuer" acts as the main boss of A Walk in the Dust.
Description
- He once ravaged the demons of the Northern Tundra, segregating the outsiders beyond the reach of civilization; His blade shies not from royals nor nobles, safeguarding glory from the dusts of rebellion. Every Royal Guard is as a dominion; the land beneath their feet is all the territory of Ursus.
- Whenever a certain percentage of HP is lost, unleashes the permanent terrain effect [Dominion], significantly reducing allied units' ASPD and reducing Physical and Arts damage taken by self when within its effect (Prioritizes targeting the ally unit outside of [Dominion] with the highest damage dealt to self); Casts [Collapsing Fear] which deals Arts damage to nearby units, instantly defeating the target if they are within [Dominion]; The first time HP drops to 0, casts [Collapsing Fear] on the entire battlefield; During his second form, his attacks and skills are more powerful.

As the first of the Emperor's Blades that can be fought, the Pursuer makes up for his surprisingly middling stats with a variety of extremely potent abilities that both help the Pursuer mitigate incoming damage and deliver devastating blows to an unprepared defensive lineup.
- The Pursuer initially uses a ranged attack.
- Dominion: When the Pursuer loses 50% of his maximum HP, he creates a patch of black mist covering a radius of 1.8 tiles centered on the friendly unit who has dealt the most damage towards the Pursuer from anywhere on the map after a delay of 1.45 seconds, dealing Arts damage equal to the Pursuer's ATK towards friendlies inside the Dominion when the mist appears. The Dominion reduces the ASPD of friendlies within by 50 and halves the Physical and Arts damage taken by the Pursuer while he is inside (indicated by a dark barrier surrounding him); both effects do not stack if multiple Dominions overlap on one friendly or the Pursuer.
- The Pursuer will prioritize using Dominion on friendlies who are outside one.
- If the friendly that would be targeted by Dominion is invisible, camouflaged, or already inside one, the Pursuer will use it on the most recently deployed friendly unit (prioritizing those outside Dominions) instead.
- In the event the target leaves the map while the Pursuer is using Dominion, it will appear on his position instead.
- Once the Pursuer is defeated, enemies will be affected by the Dominions' ASPD debuff if they are inside one. This can be easily noticed in WD-EX-8.
- Collapsing Fear: A pulse that deals Arts damage equal to the Pursuer's ATK towards friendly units in a radius of 2 tiles around him and instantly KOs those inside Dominions, even if their HP cannot be reduced below a certain amount, with a cooldown of 20 seconds from when the Pursuer spawns.
- When his HP reaches 0 for the first time, the Pursuer will use a Collapsing Fear that hits all friendly units before reviving himself by fully restoring his HP over 7.2 seconds during which he is invulnerable and disabled. After being revived, the Pursuer enters the second phase, signified by his glowing red eyes and black mists emanating around him, with the following properties:
- Invulnerable for 10 seconds, indicated by a grayish aura surrounding the Pursuer.
- ATK increased by 50%.
- The Pursuer will use a melee attack with his saber when blocked, which deals Physical damage equal to 2.5× his ATK. Combined with the ATK buff, this allows the Pursuer to deal huge damage to most melee friendly units.
- The Pursuer will use Dominion whenever he loses 25% of his maximum HP.
- Collapsing Fear's radius increased to 2.5 tiles.

Clearing WD-8 while letting no more than 4 friendly units inside Dominions be KO'd by the Pursuer's Collapsing Fear is the requirement to obtain the "First Encounter" medal, which can be trimmed if no more than 2 friendlies inside Dominions are KO'd by Collapsing Fear.
