Sona the "Flametail Knight" was originally an average village girl from southern Kazimierz who became Infected after a Catastrophe that hit the town. To Sona's anger and dismay, the Kaliskas, the nobles that managed the land, did not take responsibility for the Infected out of fear of their names being tarnished. This led to Sona harboring strong feelings of hatred towards them until her destined encounter with Greynuty, a former prodigy who was disgraced for being Infected, in an underground tournament.
Together, the two founded the Pinus Sylvestris Knightclub that is exclusively comprised of Infected knights and took part in the Kazimierz Major, hoping that their reputation will change the Kazimierzians' view towards the Infected. However, things did not turn out well as the Major's stakeholders, especially the K.G.C.C., eventually saw P.S. as a threat to the status quo and tried to get rid of them during the 24th Major season. Fortunately, Greynuty and Sona survived, but they are forced to hide underground. In the midst of their weakness, Sona receive an invitation from the Adeptus Sprawiedliwi to create the second Kawalerielki Separation during the return of the Radiant Knight. Now with numerous surpport from other factions such as Rhodes Island and the Followers, Sona is ready to lead her follows in exposing the rampant capitalism of Kazimierz to the public as well as to the whole world.
Flametail appears as a supporting character in the Maria Nearl event, and a leading character in Pinus Sylvestris, before her introduction as an Operator in Near Light.

Maria Nearl[]
The "Flametail Knight" first appeared alongside the "Ashlock Knight" when the two were watching Maria Nearl's battle against Szewczyk, the Plastic Knight. After Maria's victory, the two returned to their headquarters to do maintenance on their weapons.[1] A few days later, they reappeared in the stadium, this time spectating Maria's fight against Olmer Ingra. Flametail expressed disappointment over Ashlock planning to fight the Brassrust Knight in her stead.[2]
Flametail befriended Maria when she took part in the "Fireblade Melee", a free-for-all match where earning points was done through hitting adversaries. She initially introduced herself as a fan of Maria's. While they dueled each other, they engaged in conversation. Sona gloated about "her Ashley" putting Olmer Ingra out of commission immediately as soon as he healed up from his brawl with Maria.
In her usual fashion, Flametail attempted to distract Maria with taunts and conversation, notably bringing up "the hypocrisy" of the system; how they allowed other Infected knights in the Major while banishing the Radiant Knight from Kazimierz. She complained that while Maria had nothing to do but "fill in paperwork" to participate in the competition, the Infected knights were subjected to off-the-books fights against gloompincers; which they had to survive, in order to even participate in the first place. She described having to claw at earning their status as human beings back, bit by bit, their footsteps literally drenched in the blood of less fortunate Infected; trying to get her point across regarding Kazimierz's inhumane treatment of her own. By the time the match ended, Maria had won third place and Sona first place.[3]
However, when she became the champion, Czarny, the speaker of the National Council, feared that the Infected knights had crossed a line and garnered too much attention from the media. He ordered Platinum and the Armorless Union to assassinate them.[4] While Sona walked the streets, she sensed being followed; which merely turned out to be Greynuty.[5] The two, however, noticed that assassins were tailing them. For days, the Infected knightesses played a cat-and-mouse game around the streets until Greynuty was shot and severely wounded. Luckily, they found shelter in Marcin's bar and Greynuty's injuries were treated.[6]

The Knights' Association stripped away their knighthood as punishment, and declared that both Greynuty and Sona had an accident during training.[7][8] Thanks to Vogelweide's and Kowal's help, the two managed to hide in the city's pipeline network along with other Infected knights who faced similar persecution.[7]
Pinus Sylvestris[]
Shortly after Sona and her knightclub settled the Infected common folk in their secret hideout, the Adeptus Sprawiedliwi sent out a request to Pinus Sylvestris, specifically enlisting their aid. Even though Greynuty expressed doubt that the nobles would ever align with their ideals, Sona reaffirmed that the Adeptus was the lesser evil of Kazimierz, and that they had been fighting against the National Council for far too long to pass up that chance. As they pondered the question, the Armorless Union's persecution became increasingly stressful, convincing Sona to immediately approach Demian, the Vice President of the Adeptus. Miraculously, not only Demian welcomed her, but also invited the knightclub to help him in starting a new "Great Kawalerielki Separation."
