Ideal City features Self-Driving Carts or simply Carts, which is a modular three-wheeled bicycle used by the Zeruertzans to kill their time by racing across the sandy beach surrounding the Aquapit.
Description (unused)
- A modular self-driving cart popular throughout Zeruertza. Order yours today and we'll include an additional "Kaboom Augment! Self-Driver Siege Mode" starter model, for no additional cost!
Overview[]
“ | Modular self-driving cart that is all the rage in Zeruertza. Upon colliding with an enemy unit, inflicts Physical damage that ignores Dodge and a brief Stun; can be equipped with components to gain additional effects. | ” |
—Unused tooltip |
In-game, Carts are treated as an allied unit[note 1] spawned by Self-Driving Cart Launchpoints. Once spawned, the Cart will move straight ahead at a speed of 2 tiles/second, dealing 500 Physical damage that never procs Physical dodge to enemies it collides with and Stunning them for 1 second. If the Cart comes into contact with an Operator, a summon whose facing can be set, or a Self-Driving Cart One-Way Road, it will be diverted towards the direction the unit is facing, but each unit can only divert a single Cart once. The Cart is invulnerable and will disappear upon colliding with a wall or Full Metal/Alloy Surfing Instructor, or on its own after 60 seconds.
Once IC-TR-1 is cleared, the player will be granted access to the Backyard Workshop where the Cart can be customized, which will be further explained below.
Gears[]
The player's Carts can be customized with various Gears to modify their functionality, done in the Power Lab section of the Backyard Workshop.
The Cart have six Gear slots: Roof, Front, two Trunks, and two Expansion Chips (α and β), with each slot can only having one Gear equipped at a time; a single Trunk and Expansion Chip can be equipped in both slots. If the operation is runned through Auto Deploy, the Gear setting used when the setup is saved will be applied.
Gears come in three rarities, denoted by their color: Green, Blue, and Gold; a fourth rarity also exists, Red, which is exclusive to "Simplification Solution", "Paradoxical Explosion", and "Infinite Fist". The rarer the Gear, the more powerful its effect(s).
Gears are obtained from the Gear Trading Center, where the player will be able to obtain a new Gear for every 80 Photocopies of "Stranger Things" obtained; the Gear obtained this way is chosen at random but never be "Simplification Solution", "Paradoxical Explosion", and "Infinite Fist". All Gears can be obtained in the Engine Club, which will be further explained below.
If the player possesses one copy of each Roof and Front, and two copies of each Trunk and Expansion Chip, any duplicates can be recycled for LMD depending on the respective Gear's rarity; "Simplification Solution", "Paradoxical Explosion", and "Infinite Fist" are treated as Gold gears.

Engine Club[]
The Engine Club allows the player to share their Cart's design with that of other players; this particular design is independent from the player's design in the Power Lab.
Every day during the event, players have three chances to participate in Club Interaction where the player chooses one of two Cart designs shared by the player's friends or random players/Zeruertzans if the player have no or little friends, awarding either a Gear and 2000 or just the latter; the first chance is guaranteed to give a Gear that the player doesn't own yet unless if the player already obtained all Gears.
Racetrack[]
Unlocked by having 6 different Gears, Self-Driving Cart Racetrack operations are meant to test the player's skill in making use of Self-Driving Carts. They neither use up Sanity nor give out any rewards, thus are meant for fun only.
There are two Racetrack operations: IC-P-1 and IC-P-2; the former is available initially while the latter is available from Ideal City's second week. In both operations, there are multiple Launchpoints and several One-Way Roads available, but no Operators can be used and the DP generation is disabled (the player starts with a high amount of DP to make up for this), so the player must make their Carts count. In addition, the operation ends when the time (shown in place of the operation status display) runs out or all enemies are defeated, whichever comes first.
The goal of Racetracks is to earn as many score as possible by utilizing Carts in the most elaborate way possible, divided into three categories.
- Power Score: Based on the total damage dealt by Carts' collision.
- In IC-P-2, Alloy Surfing Instructors are present; if the Cart collides with them, the Power Score will actually be reduced!
- Trick Score: Based on the Gears equipped on the Cart; the Gears used in Racetrack operations matches with the player's current setup in the Power Lab.
- Speed Score: Based on the remaining time limit, the delay between Cart spawns, how long the Cart remains, and whether the Cart have Gears that boosts its speed or not.
Upon ending the Racetrack operation, the player will receive one of the four ratings based on their total score, from the lowest to the highest: B, A, S, and SS.
Notes[]
- ↑ Classified as a normal enemy with the code "DUR0" and a D rating on all stats but ATK which is rated B, and has no attack.
