The Imperial Artillery Targeteer is an elite enemy in Arknights. They first appear in Episode 08.
Description
- A heavily-armored, sturdily-built drone operated by artillery casters of the Ursus army. They presage the withering firepower of the Ursus Artillery.
Overview[]
A heavily armored UAV used by the Ursus Imperial Army as "targeteers" for their off-map artillery batteries, Imperial Artillery Targeteers mark a target within their range which is shown as a red circle around them for an artillery strike that arrives after delay of ~2 seconds, dealing heavy area-of-effect damage in a radius of 1.2 tiles centered on the target. The artillery strike is considered to be independent from the Targeteer, thus it will not trigger damage-reflecting effects such as Hoshiguma's Thorns and cannot be interrupted; even if either the Targeteer or the target leaves the map (or the latter becomes untargetable), or the former is disabled in the meantime, the artillery strike will still hit with full force. Furthermore, Imperial Artillery Targeteers attack allied units over friendlies (this is not stated in-game), so they must not be allowed to mark an ally especially if they are tightly bunched.
A combination of their very high ATK and significant defenses makes Imperial Artillery Targeteers one of the most dangerous drones, able to soak heavy punishment (to the point most Marksman Snipers can barely damage Targeteers) and capable of pummeling allies and friendlies with ease. It is advised to use burst/concentrated Arts or Pure damage against Imperial Artillery Targeteers to quickly destroy them before they can inflict massive damage.
