Kafka is a 5★ Executor Specialist who specializes in Fast-Redeploy and Crowd-Control. As an Executor Specialist, Kafka has a base redeployment time of just 18 seconds instead of other Operators' 70-80 seconds; combined with her low DP cost of 7 (9 at Elite 1), Kafka can be deployed, retreated, and deployed over and over again every time the situation calls for it. Similar to Projekt Red and Waai Fu, Kafka have high ATK but low HP and DEF, making her more of a "glass cannon" Operator; capable of dealing high damage though can't take as much.

Kafka's playstyle revolves around making use of her short redeployment time to incapacitate enemies multiple times and inflicting concentrated Arts damage with her skills while avoiding retaliation from enemies thanks to her talent Misdirection which camouflages Kafka but renders her unable to block enemies while her skill is in effect, essentially protecting her from both melee and ranged enemies so long as Technical Scouts and enemies with AoE attacks don't approach Kafka, and allows her to cause serious damage before the enemies could react; at Elite 1 and above, Misdirection also slightly buffs Kafka's ATK, providing a welcome increase to her DPS. And while we're talking about Kafka's skills...

  • The first skill, Cube of Absurdism, causes enemies in the adjacent tiles to Kafka to be put into sleep for a short time after Kafka is deployed, and unleashes a shockwave that deals Arts damage towards adjacent enemies once it expires. Cube of Absurdism can be used to temporarily gave Kafka's allies a breathing room (or allow Blemishine, who can attack sleeping enemies due to her talent Mercy, to dispatch them with impunity) with an added effect of heavily damaging them right as they are roused from their slumber, allowing other Operators to finish them off and is especially useful against high-DEF, low-RES enemies.
  • The second skill, Shears of Surrealism, deals Arts damage to enemies on the third tile in front of Kafka when she is deployed and makes her attack ground enemies within that tile with single-target Arts attacks akin to Core Casters and Arts Fighter Guards for a period of time afterwards. The very unusual range might make some unconvinced to use Shears of Surrealism at first glance, but it can be highly effective when used correctly, such as by deploying Kafka about three tiles away from a strong enemy, including from behind other Operators, ranged tiles, and/or walls (preferably bosses who only have a melee attack and/or have low RES like Big Bob), where she can then quickly cut the enemy down without fear of retaliation even when she is spotted (as long as there are no ranged enemies close by).

Kafka's EXE-Y Operator Module, Rubik's Cube Pendant, increases her ATK by 10% when there are no friendly units in the adjacent tiles to her, in addition to increasing Kafka's maximum HP and ATK; once upgraded, Misdirection's ATK buff is increased. Rubik's Cube Pendant's ATK buff can help in increasing the damage dealt by Kafka with her skills, as she would typically be deployed away from friendly units.

Kafka's base skill, Handicrafts α (Handicrafts β at Elite 2), makes Trading Posts' high-yield LMD LMD orders more likely to appear (with Handicrafts β being more effective than Handicrafts α) the longer she is assigned to one and reduces her morale drain rate by 0.25 per hour as well.

Overall, Kafka is more of a tactical instead of core Operator as with other Executor Specialists; as one of the few Crowd-Control Operators, she is best dropped in the middle of a swarm of enemies to temporarily pacify and then quickly dispatch them, although she can also be dropped close to high-value targets and swiftly take them out with focused Arts damage like cutting off the leaves off a tree, and pulls out once she's finished so that she could do the same again when needed.

Pros Cons
  • Has a redeployment time of 18 seconds instead of other Operators' 70
  • Low DP cost
  • Good ATK
  • Misdirection camouflages Kafka and, from Elite 1, buffs her ATK while her skill is in effect
  • Cube of Absurdism puts enemies into sleep for a short time and deals heavy Arts damage to adjacent enemies when it expires
  • Shears of Surrealism inflicts concentrated Arts damage effective against single targets
  • Low HP and DEF
  • Misdirection makes Kafka cannot block enemies while her skill is in effect (though this can be an advantage since it makes melee enemies ignore Kafka)
  • Cube of Absurdism stops Kafka from attacking while active
  • Shears of Surrealism has a very unusual range which is difficult to be utilized effectively
