Transcript[]
Remnant: Leithanien, glory to her name!
A group of knights standing ready before the entrance to a room is shown, followed by the Remnant himself inside the room as he speaks to the viewer.
Remnant: Kingdoms rise and fall, yet none can be as resolute in her passion, nor as elegant in her wisdom. But who was the fount of her magnificence? Raise your head and set your gaze upon His sublime visage and works!
A shot of the Witch King of Leithanien in his prime is shown...
Remnant: A century ago, the electors chose Him, the greatest caster to ever grace this realm. To him was given the Spire from which he watched over us.
...before focusing on the upright image of one of Leithanien's great Spires...
Remnant: None may say what transpired within those lofty heights nor bore witness to His transcendence.
...but then switches to an upside down image of the Spire...
Remnant: His was a reign of terror, a shadow that loomed over all Leithanien.
...and an upside down shot of the now fallen Witch King.
Remnant: His rule was unchallenged for sixty years until that very summer which I still remember vividly.
An image of the Gaulish legion standing ready for battle with a tower burning in the background is shown.
Remnant: The Emperor of Gaul had set his covetous sights upon fair Leithanien. The Grande Armeé marched upon our country and turned it into a hellish furnace of war. Without the might of the Witch King, our fate would have been sealed. His Arts bore the destructive power of Catastrophes. He alone blunted the Gallic hordes and shattered their vanguard.
An image of a ruined battlefield with a broken thrown pierced by arrows is shown.
Remnant: As the war ground to a halt, the other great powers made their move. Ursus and Victoria struck when Gaul was at its weakest. Historians called this the Battle of the Four Emperors.
The Remnant is shown reading books in what appears to be a library/archive.
Remnant: The great powers partitioned the defeated empire and gorged on its remains. Though victory added to Leithanien laurels, she was left bloodied by the devastation of war.
The image of an Arts ritual circle is shown.
Remnant: Our Witch King, for all His power and prestige, no longer held sway over those who schemed in the dark. These traitors scoured the lands for every ancient scroll they could find with the hope of unearthing the source of His power and the means to defeat Him.
The image of the Twin Empresses claiming victory over the Witch King and his reign of terror is shown.
Remnant: I know not how the twin usurpers committed heresy most unimaginable. With powers that even I could not fathom, they cast Him down and took His throne... Many thought they were liberated from the Witch King's shadow, yet time will eventually reveal the Twin Empresses' leash.
The Remnant is shown preparing to burn down his collection of books and himself...
Remnant: I have given my life to my King, dedicated my purpose to His glory, and chronicled His every deed and every achievement in the Originium Arts. But now I must consign myself and the memories of Him to the flames.
...before showing the knights from earlier noticing a fire inside the room.
Remnant: They know nothing about Him. He was more than a shadow that loomed over us, more than any mortal pretenders to power!
A shot of the original Witch King is shown...
Remnant: He was the very Spire that held up the skies of Leithanien.
...which splits to show his corrupted self in the other half.
Remnant: He was the inevitable, indispensable, and eternal pillar that defined her existence!
The screen blacks out.
Remnant: He IS the King of Leithanien. Our one and only King...
Arknights.
