Magallan is a 6★ Summoner Supporter who specializes in (no pun intended) Support, Slow, and DPS. As a Summoner Supporter, having Magallan deployed allows the player to deploy summons; in her case, she can deploy Soaring Dragons through her first talent Support Drone - Soaring Dragon, which have decent stats but cannot block enemies and their exact functionality is based on the skill Magallan is currently using (see below).

As with other summons, Magallan's Soaring Dragons are subject to the following rules:

  1. Only three Soaring Dragons can be deployed at a time.
  2. Magallan have a limited number of Soaring Dragons available for deployment (3 initial, 4 at Elite 1, 5 at Elite 2), which can only be replenished by redeploying Magallan or using her skills; retreating the Soaring Dragons will not replenish their count.
  3. If Magallan is knocked out or retreated, all deployed Soaring Dragons will be destroyed.
  4. The Soaring Dragons are counted towards the Unit Limit.

As with other Supporters, Magallan's attack do Arts damage, but with a range of 3×3 tiles and a 1-tile extension up front at Elite 1 – similar to Core Casters. However, Magallan is not meant for direct combat due to her below-average overall stats when compared to Casters, so she must be placed out of reach from ranged enemies who can easily dispatch her.

Magallan's skills have a passive effect which determines how her Soaring Dragons function and an active effect to buff Magallan and her Soaring Dragons, and "recovers" them by retreating all deployed Soaring Dragons and replenishing their count by the amount of Soaring Dragons retreated this way (those destroyed before recovery will be permanently lost) when the skill expires:

  • The first skill, High-Efficiency Freezing Module, allows the Soaring Dragons to be deployed on both melee and ranged tiles and gives them an "attack" range of 3×3 tiles centered on themselves, costing 3 (2 with Instructional Soaring Dragon Drone; see below) DP to deploy. Magallan and her Soaring Dragons periodically Slow enemies within their attack range; while the skill is active, they Bind the enemies for a longer duration instead.
  • The second skill, Laser Mining Module, makes the Soaring Dragons deployable on melee tiles only and gives them a melee attack which deals single-target Arts damage to enemies in the same tile as themselves, costing 7 (4 with Instructional Soaring Dragon Drone; see below) DP to deploy. While active, Magallan and her Soaring Dragons have their ASPD buffed, and the latter's attack also deals AoE damage.
  • The third skill, Armed Combat Module, makes the Soaring Dragons deployable on ranged tiles only and gives them a ranged attack which deals AoE Physical damage with a range of 3×3 tiles, costing 8 (5 with Instructional Soaring Dragon Drone; see below) DP to deploy. While active, Magallan and her Soaring Dragons have their ATK buffed, and the latter's splash damage radius is extended.

Magallan's second talent, Optical Refraction Accessories, makes her Soaring Dragons invisible for a period of time after they are deployed, allowing Magallan to drop her Soaring Dragons near ranged enemies without fear of retaliation while it lasts.

Magallan has two Operator Modules, both of which improve her Soaring Dragon Modules in one way or another, making it up to the player's choice for whichever module to choose:

  • Her SUM-X Module, Drone Control Module.P, makes the first deployed Soaring Dragon not counted towards the Unit Limit, in addition to increasing Magallan's maximum HP and ATK; once upgraded, the invisibility Soaring Dragons have from Optical Refraction Accessories last longer.
  • Her SUM-Y Module, Instructional Soaring Dragon Drone, increases the Soaring Dragons' deployment count by 3 and reduces their DP cost by around 25%, in addition to increasing Magallan's ATK and DEF; once upgraded, the limit of Soaring Dragons that can be deployed at one time is increased to 4 and their stats are increased (HP/DEF for Soaring Dragons F, ATK/ASPD for Soaring Dragons L and A) at Stage 3.

Magallan's first base skill, Multifunctional Robotter, increases the byproduct rate of any material processing by 50% when she is assigned to the Workshop. Her second base skill, Drone - Soaring Dragon, reduces the morale drained when a material which drains 4 or more morale is processed by 2 (e.g. processing T4 upgrade materials like White Horse Kohl will only drain 2 morale instead of 4, while processing T5 ones like Bipolar Nanoflake will drain 6 morale instead of 8) when Magallan is assigned to the Workshop.

Overall, as a Summoner Supporter Magallan can cover a multitude of roles ranging from stalling and focused or spread DPS with her Soaring Dragons, but she will only start to shine at higher levels and using her also requires a lot of practice involving trial and error. The results, however, will be very well worth it and Magallan can even single-handedly clear most operations!

Pros Cons
  • Can deploy Soaring Dragons with good overall stats as force multiplier
  • High-Efficiency Freezing Module is effective for stalling
  • Laser Mining Module gives the Soaring Dragons an Arts damage attack, useful against enemies with high DEF
  • Armed Combat Module gives the Soaring Dragons a ranged AoE attack, useful in most situations especially against groups of enemies
  • All three skills recover the Soaring Dragons when they expires after activation, replenishing the Soaring Dragon's count
  • Optical Refraction Accessories makes the Soaring Dragons invisible for a short time after deployed
  • Rather low stats, even at maximum level
  • The Soaring Dragons are counted towards the Unit Limit and only three of them can be deployed at a time (unlike other summons)
  • The Soaring Dragons cannot block enemies, even when deployed on melee tiles (though this also makes melee enemies never attack them)
  • Destroyed or retreated Soaring Dragons do not replenish their count, as with other summons
  • Micromanagement-intensive, not recommended for casual or new players
  • Must be leveled and promoted to Elite 2 for maximum effectiveness

Strategy[]

  • High-Efficiency Freezing Module is particularly useful in operations where there are too many enemies and lack of DPS to deal with all of them quickly. In this regard, Magallan would cover the functions of Ethan (only guaranteed) when the skill is active or Istina otherwise.
