Mizuki is a 6★ Ambusher Specialist who specializes in DPS and Crowd-Control. As an Ambusher Specialist, Mizuki has a block count of zero, which means he cannot block enemies on his own although this makes melee enemies never attack him, innately have Negative Taunt, can dodge both Physical and Arts attacks 50% at a time, and his attacks hit all enemies within a range of the surrounding eight tiles with a 1-tile extension in front of him, but with high attack interval and rather high DP cost.

Mizuki prefers to inflict heavy damage especially against weaker enemies thanks to his first talent Traumatic Hysteria which causes his attacks to inflict an additional instance of Arts damage equal to a portion of his ATK towards the victim with the lowest amount (not percentage) of HP, allowing Mizuki to deliver a coup de grace on enemies that have been weakened by other Operators without much hassle. Furthermore, Mizuki's skills enhance the effectiveness of Traumatic Hysteria and often allows him to clear out groups of enemies with minimal trouble, true to his Crowd-Control role:

  • The first skill, Awaken, causes Mizuki's next attack to do more damage and increases the damage dealt by Traumatic Hysteria in the said attack once fully charged, which can stack multiple charges at higher levels, making it good for delivering sustained DPS.
  • The second skill, Prisoner's Dilemma, shortens Mizuki's attack interval, somewhat buffs his ATK, and makes Traumatic Hysteria affect up to two enemies (three with the upgraded Entreaty of the Herald, see below) and momentarily Binds them while active. With a good uptime and no drawbacks unlike Moon in the Water (see below) as well as solid DPS, Prisoner's Dilemma is especially useful for both stalling and inflicting consistent DPS.
  • The third skill, Moon in the Water, expands Mizuki's range to an adjusted 3×4 tiles with 3-tile extensions to the sides and a 1-tile extension to the front, greatly buffs his ATK, and makes Traumatic Hysteria affect up to three enemies (four with the upgraded Entreaty of the Herald, see below) and momentarily Stuns them, allowing Mizuki to inflict heavy damage to multiple enemies and interrupting them in one sweep, especially for those with low HP. Take caution, though: Mizuki will lose a portion of his maximum HP (which can knock him out) in each attack should it fails to hit at least three enemies while Moon in the Water is active, so be sure to place him on high-traffic areas to ensure that Mizuki can hit three or more enemies at once in each attack.

Mizuki's second talent, Countertransference, buffs his ATK when an enemy whose HP had fallen below 50% is present within his range, which synergizes well with Traumatic Hysteria and provides him with a small but welcome DPS increase.

Mizuki has two Operator Modules, one of which further enhances his crowd-controlling specialization while the other one compensates Moon in the Water's drawback:

  • His AMB-X Module, Entreaty of the Herald, reduces the speed of enemies within Mizuki's attack range by 20% in addition to increasing his maximum HP and ATK; once upgraded, Traumatic Hysteria's damage is increased and it now affects an additional enemy.
  • His AMB-Y Module, Caerulorum Semina (Latin for "Azure Seeds"), increases the innate dodge's proc chance to 65% in addition to increasing Mizuki's ATK lower than Entreaty of the Herald but also increasing his ASPD; once upgraded, Countertransference's ATK buff is increased and Mizuki restores a bit of HP when he defeats an enemy.

Mizuki's first base skill, Consciousness Agreement, increases the productivity bonus provided by Operators with the Standardization base skills assigned to a Factory by 5% when he is assigned to one as well, with his second base skill Standardization β increasing the Factory's productivity by 25% (and is affected by Mizuki's own Agreement of Consciousness for a total of +30% productivity).

Overall, Mizuki is an excellent Ambusher Specialist who calls forth his Seaborn essence to devastate masses of enemies with little to no fear of retaliation, especially should the enemy is too weak or are already injured, allowing him to literally came for you at the turn of the tide when used correctly.
