The Monastery Resident is an allied unit (technically classified as a normal enemy) in Arknights. They first appear in Hortus de Escapismo.
Description
- Civilians who regards the monastery as their protection and home. Plain, poor & weak, and strives to live their life. They yearn for spiritual salvation, pious, gets provoked easily and follow things blindly.

A poor civilian who has been living inside the Sanctilaminium Ambrosii for their entire life as their only shelter and now has to flee from mercenaries raiding the place, Monastery Residents are un-targetable by enemies' ranged attacks and start in the calm state where they do not move. A "Panic" bar is shown above the Resident as a diamond shape, which is actually an SP meter with a maximum of 50, a SP generation rate of 2/second, and gains 1 additional SP whenever an enemy enters the surrounding 8 tiles of the Resident. Once the bar is full, the Residents will enter the "Panicked" state where they start moving to the next Holy Statue on their path and lose 15 HP per second (actually having a debuff applied), reducing their SP by 20 once they arrive at the Statue. Once the bar's SP is reduced below the maximum, the Residents will return to their calm state.
Ensuring Monastery Residents' condition is essential, as although they are completely safe from enemy harm, they will deduct 1 Life Point in the event they are defeated. Take note that panicking Residents will not avoid hazards or holes when pathfinding to the Holy Statue, making it essential to ensure that they are protected from hazards lest they run into danger and lose their lives!
