The Mutant Giant Rock Spider is an elite enemy in Arknights. They first appear in Operation Originium Dust.
Description
- A giant rock spider infected by an Originiutant. Giant rock spiders are a subspecies of rock spider found only in Sargon. They possess a large circular abdomen used to store energy.
- Periodically creates an Originiutant Excrescence; Splits into 4 Originiutant Excrescences upon death
Overview[]
A rock spider with larger abdomen featuring bulbous growths to store additional energy parasitized by Originiutant Excrescences and become unfortunate hosts of their replication process, Mutant Giant Rock Spiders are highly durable and have a decently damaging ranged attack, though their defenses are lacking. Their true threat, however, lies in the ability to spawn an Originiutant Excrescence every 5 seconds from when they spawns and releasing four Originiutant Excrescences when defeated – both of which will be disabled when the Giant Rock Spider is being silenced. If multiple Mutant Giant Rock Spiders are active, the constant stream of Originiutant Excrescences combined with whatever enemies are currently present can potentially overwhelm unprepared defenses, thus they should be the priority targets.
