A Victorian Feline suffering from dissociative identity disorder (more commonly known as split personality), the Gloria Rebel Pasbelletti everyone knew has a meek and innocent attitude. But her alter ego, known as "Nightmare," is a different story; she instead has an aggressive and brutal personality. Currently Gloria is under the care of Rhodes Island's Medical Department, with Perfumer's aromatherapy allowing her to keep her Nightmare persona in check and proves to be a skilled combatant with both offensive and healing Arts.

Gameplay[]

Nightmare is a 5★ Core Caster who specializes in DPS, Healing, and Slow, which is a rare occasion where a single Operator have distinct specializations unrelated to their class' role, true to the fact that Nightmare has two contrasting personalities. As a Core Caster, Nightmare's attacks deal Arts damage to one target at a time with an attack range of 3×3 tiles with a 1-tile extension up front at Elite 1, and moderate ATK, attack interval, and DP cost.

What makes Nightmare unique is her skills which requires the player to understand how each functions so they can utilize them effectively:

  • The first skill, Drain Soul, causes Nightmare's attacks to also heal one (two from Mastery 1) friendly unit within her attack range by a portion of the damage dealt, similar to Incantation Medics, while active. With Drain Soul, Nightmare can act as a substitute for Medics while contributing to DPS, but its high SP cost neccessitates the player to plan carefully before using it.
  • The second skill, Night Phantom, inflicts a "nightmare" debuff to multiple enemies within Nightmare's attack range once fully charged and at least one enemy is in range, which reduces the victims' speed by 60% and causes them to receive up to 1200 Pure damage for every tile they have moved through for a short time. Night Phantom is devastating against fast-moving enemies like Hounds, Breakers, and Arts Masters A1, and can be used to good effect when combined with Decel Binder Supporters' attacks since the speed reduction is independent from other speed reductions, especially against tanky enemies due to the true damage. However, the nightmare debuff requires the target to move to apply the damage, so Night Phantom will be harmless toward stationary enemies (including those being blocked) and the speed reduction might make it not as effective against slow-moving enemies, though this can be compensated to a degree by utilizing Push Stroker/Hookmaster Specialists.

Nightmare's talent, Dual Personality, has two different effects depending on the skill she is using:

  • If Nightmare is using Drain Soul, Dual Personality grants her a chance to dodge Physical and Arts attacks.
  • If Nightmare is using Night Phantom, Dual Personality buffs her ATK.

Nightmare's CCR-Y Operator Module, "The Double", gives her 1 SP when she damages elite or boss enemies with her attacks, in addition to increasing her ATK and ASPD; once upgraded, Dual Personality's dodge/ATK buff are increased.

Nightmare's first base skill, Caster Expert α, speeds up the skill Mastery training of Caster Operators by 30% when she is assigned as the trainer in the Training Room. Her second base skill, Psychology, increases the rate at which Recruitment tag refresh chances are generated by 40% when Nightmare is assigned to the Human Resources Office.

Overall, Nightmare is a very unusual Core Caster who is basically two Operators fused into one and can fulfill three separate roles effectively: healing friendlies, inflicting Arts DPS, and stalling enemies, but the difficulties in using her properly means that Nightmare mostly serves as a niche Operator though she remains useful in general situations.

Pros Cons
  • Attacks deal Arts damage
  • Drain Soul allows Nightmare to act as a Caster/Medic hybrid
  • Night Phantom slows enemies and inflicts Pure damage based on tiles moved, making it useful against speedy enemies; the speed reduction is independent of other similar effects, making it highly effective when used in conjunction with mobility-impairing Operators, especially Decel Binder Supporters
  • Dual Personality grants either physical and Arts dodge or ATK buff depending on the current skill
  • Both skills are only effective at higher levels, requiring a great investment of resources
  • Does not excel in any specialties
  • Night Phantom's speed reduction is counterproductive to its damage output without strong shift sources
