Shieldguards are deployable devices in Arknights.
A Guerrilla Shieldguard who fights alongside Rhodes Island in the memory of Patriot, Shieldguards have respectable overall stats, but cannot be directly healed by friendly units (indirect healing, such as from Angelina's Part-Time Job talent, will heal them) and Taunts enemies, thus they are capable of distracting and holding back enemies, giving the Operators an opportunity to dispatch them.

The Shieldguards are always pre-deployed in the operations they are featured.
If the player managed to keep all four Shieldguards and Rosmontis from being defeated/knocked out by the end of M8-6, EG-2 will be unlocked.
