Terra is a Latin word that is generally used to refer to earthly matters (e.g., "earth," "ground" and "world").
In the Chinese and Japanese texts of most Arknights' story as well as Operators' dialogues, Terra is referred to as "(upon) this land (Chinese: 这片大地上; Japanese: この大地に)," which is used to denote their lack of knowledge beyond the known world on land.[1] There was an exact word to describe the actual "world", in ancient Sarkaz language known as "Alma" and in ancient Sargonian language "Alam".[2]
The world of Terra has often been compared with the world of Warhammer series, especially Warhammer 40,000, in which:
Both have a border of civilization that acts as a safeguard from the threats of the unexplored world (Terra against Seaborn and the "demons;" Imperium of Man against the Tyranids and the Xenos)
Both have multiple races and are science fantasies filled with pseudo-religious themes.
