The Withered Knight acts as the main boss of the Maria Nearl event alongside the Corrupted Knight.
Description
- A Sarkaz knight with a broken horn who radiates terror and shows clear signs of excessive drug use. Uses a cursed bow in battle. Can shoot multiple targets at once and plant seeds of withering arts.[sic] When the Corrupted Knight falls, takes up the quest and becomes dramatically stronger. Knights that are hostile to him will shift to Wither.
- Attacks two targets simultaneously. Fires explosive arrows at three targets, which explode after a short delay, dealing high Arts damage to the target and surrounding four tiles. When the Corrupted Knight dies, ATK, ASPD, and movement speed are significantly increased.

While the Corrupted Knight focuses on powerful melee attacks, the Withered Knight instead focuses on deadly ranged Arts attacks that allows him to inflict heavy damage to friendly units while soaking Arts punishment just as much thanks to his high RES, though his ATK and DEF are on the lower side. In addition, the Withered Knight has the following abilities to bolster his already glaring strength:
- The Withered Knight's attacks can hit up to two targets within range at once, like that of Spec Ops Caster Leaders and Sarkaz Grudgebearers.
- A special attack where the Withered Knight fires special arrows at up to three targets within range, telegraphed by his eyes glowing red as he draws his greatbow, which takes slightly longer; the special arrows stick to the victims without dealing damage but explode after a delay of 2.5 seconds, each dealing Arts damage equal to 160% of the Withered Knight's ATK to the targets and friendly units adjacent to the targets. The special attack has a cooldown of 22 seconds from when the Withered Knight spawns.
- When either the Corrupted or Withered Knight is defeated (including entering a Protection Objective), the other will become enraged (indicated by a red aura surrounding him) and have his ATK, ASPD, and speed increased by 80%, 100, and 150%, respectively. Therefore, it is highly recommended that the player defeats both Knights at the same time or in a short time between each other to save them from the trouble of having to deal with the enraged surviving Knight.
- If either Knight is defeated/enters a Protection Objective before the other spawns, he will not become enraged.
Appearances[]
In MN-8, MN-EX-8, and VI-7, both the Corrupted and Withered Knight spawns at the same time. This is also the case in Arena 8 if the Sarkaz Knight: Joint Training II/III Contract is used.
